Cue the dramatic music!
My very first post on this blog! Yay! If anyone is reading this, they'll quickly find that I'm a little crazy with the exclamation marks.Which can be blamed on my super excitable personality! I will try to restrain myself... but obviously this is a pretty chronic disorder that would take some time to remedy :)
I would like to begin by relating to the empty web-sphere an amazing, heroic, triumph-of-the-human-spirit type event which happened to me a few months ago.
It was a promising day with a great beginning. My hair was good, breakfast tasted delicious, I threw on my lace up boots and went to school. Weather outside was cold and fierce but in that beautiful, Siberian tiger kind of way. No worries, my boots were keeping my toes toasty and my poofy coat was deflecting the wintery chill with ease. As I made my way towards the library before my first class (because I'm just such a nerd like that), I noticed that the laces of my boots were undone. 'Not a big deal' I thought to myself. It was only a few tiny steps to the library. I decided that it was much smarter to deal with the pesky laces when I could park my butt in a chair. Alas, a cruel miscalculation. As I walked through the double doors of the library that directly led to the hub of frenzied activity that was the computer center I was blissfully unaware of a pending disaster below... I smiled at the view of the harried looking students who were doing last minute printing of assignments, typing up those essays they procrastinated on yesterday and hard at work on a group project, I smiled at the librarian, but before I could salute her with a greeting, I found myself involuntarily attacking the floor with my face. What sounded like a seismic boom accompanied my spectacular full-body assault, and I opened my eyes to see a legion of high school students frozen in comic tableau of horror. It was a moment that laid truth to the statement that a picture is worth a thousand words. One look at the many (many, many) faces that now gawked down at my prone form and I could immediately tell that there were 3 groups of people. There were the poor, confused souls who had heard the epic ringing crash which resulted from my full body high five with the floor but had not yet seen me and thus were looking around furiously internally wondering "where the heck did that sound come from?!" There were those nurturing, motherly types, who only witnessed end of the spectacle and thought "Oh. My. God. Is she dead?! Maybe I should call ant ambulance". And then of course there those who thought " I want to laugh, but I shouldn't because she might be dead. But I want to laugh..." (In the end, they laughed.) Dear friends, I was not dead. In fact I felt completely fine and thus felt a teensy weeny bit annoyed when 10 people came up to inquire whether I was alright with a stunned, shocked look on their faces.
It was an amazing day. Not embarrassing in the least. Nope :P
The redeeming parts of that event was:
1) The ground didn't launch a counter attack.
2) Didn't pee/poop in my pants from shock. <= this is a big one
3) No one called the ambulance after all ;)
I'm really good at looking at the bright side.
Anyway, just wanted to immortalize this moment on electronic paper. I'm saving it so my grand kids know how lucky they are to have such a cool granny.
Besides the cool story, I do have a point to make! I just graduated high school! *cue happy dance (although I actually enjoyed it) * And I'm heading off to university for undergrad next year. Everyone says that this is a huuuuugggeeee transitional time that will change my life, determine my future etc etc. So I'm going to record some interesting things that happen over the next however many number of years (being optimistic here, I've tried keeping a journal many times and it's never been too successful :S) and I know I would love to read about what I wrote here when I'm older. I can never seem to remember what I was like before I changed... well, it's not going to happen this time! :]
I am going to Health Sciences at McMaster University next year, and this has gotten me attacked by some eager young'uns with questions about the program at school. I was one of you guys before so this might be informative and cool if anyone wants to know about health sci as well.
I've written enough. (I'm a rambler in case you couldn't tell :) So toodle-loo! I'll try to update often, but in the mean time -time for some anime! (I know, I'm such a nerd! But I'm a nerd LOUD and PROUD ^^ nerds are totally awesome)
